De Heus Animal Nutrition joins forces with Golpasz S.A.
On July 1, 2020, De Heus Animal Nutrition signed a preliminary agreement for the acquisition of the Polish compound feed company Golpasz (annual production capacity of 500,000 tonnes of compound feed). The acquisition is still subject to approval from the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK).
De Heus and funds managed by Resource Partners GP, a majority shareholder of Golpasz S.A., together with minority shareholders, agreed on the conditions of the acquisition of all shares in Golpasz S.A by De Heus.
The proposed transaction involves the entire business activities of Golpasz in the field of production and sales of animal feed as well as managing a farm. Feed production is carried out in four plants with an annual production potential of 500,000 tonnes. The company’s headquarters are located in Golub-Dobrzyń.
The merger of De Heus and Golpasz combines growth strategies of both companies, built around providing Polish breeders with innovative solutions in the field of animal nutrition. Golpasz, a company with over 50 years of tradition, is a Polish leader in turkey nutrition and services clients predominantly in central and eastern Poland. By joining De Heus Group, Golpasz will benefit from international expertise and highly specialized know-how in the field of animal nutrition and breeding, as well as from a sophisticated portfolio of business tools supporting sales and marketing activities. This combination of experience and skills of both companies shall result in even better response to the expectations of Polish breeders and will contribute to excelling both companies in sustainable food production and development of Polish agriculture.

All the necessary documents have been submitted to the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) for approval. Both companies will perform in an unchanged manner until a formal decision has been made by UOKiK.
